Project Overview
Newkirk foundation crews were tasked with installing three different forms of foundations on the Kenzie Creek 138kV T-Line Phase 3 project. The three forms included drilling and set 4 foot diameter by 15 foot deep temporary casing for 89 tangent structures; Drill and pour 19 dead end pier foundations ranging from 5 to 7.5 foot in diameter and 23 to 34 foot in depth; and Vibratory casing foundations 66 inches in diameter and 38 to 68 foot in depth. Two drill crews were employed simultaneously on the project supporting T-Line construction efforts. Foundation crews contended with difficult and limited working conditions including low overhead power lines and working off of temporary timber mat construction pads in wetland areas.
